Ronnie Chan ![]() Real Audio Presentation (20:15 min) (Installation Guide) Asia is Merging into the West Ronnie Chan, Chairman of the Board of the Hang Lung Development Co. Ltd., discussed the future of Asian societies. He said that Asia and the West have different aims. The top priorities in Asian countries, he said, are survival and development, and not values such as democracy and human rights. The triangle is "unequal." Asia, Chan said, has no choice but to follow in the footsteps of the "first world." Said Chan: Asia is merging into the Wewst. However, it should be allowed to move at its own pace. |
