Art is the catalysator of an open communication. It promotes and supplements the specialised discourse. Due to this reason, the events of the Research Group of the Global Future integrate the "factor art". The digital translation of future perspectives was in the core of the forum "Decision Makers 2010" in Hong Kong. The Research Group has asked the German-persian media artist Behram Salmassinia to develop the topic of sustainability during this event. The result are four digital collages which breath the spirit of a fascinating town in transition.

We've always documented what we have done, wether it's the first trip to a new country or pictures at the local club. Culture, time or continent play absolutely no role, it is just a part of who we are, a part of our humanity.

When special people come together under unique circumstances the atmostphere is at once different, it becomes intriguing. Thanks to today's digital technology artists are capable of coming closer than before to capturing these moments immediately.

We have at our fingertips new ways to convey our messages and we must try to keep up with the ever expanding choice that is being offered to us.

Where does it end? Where does it begin? Pictures...this is the one medium that never changes it just keeps getting clearer and better. Just one look can have a lasting and instant impact without one even stopping to extensively analyze it's content. Pictures tell us what is going on all around our globe. From their colored or black and white surfaces we can come face to face with a vision of someone else many culutres or continents away.

With these pictures I have chosen to document our event through my eyes, the eyes of an outsider, just like the many anonymous pairs of eyes which will fall on these images I have created. I want to convey what happened at this event, what we did ,the city, the participants and the excitement.

All it takes is a moment, a snapshot to reveal what I saw here which was the perfect backdrop for our rapidly changing culture. The unique mix of modern technology moving with an astoundig speed from imagination to reality and all of this in a place so firmly and nobly linked to one the world's most ancient cultures.
