Dr. Christof Erhart On democracy I believe that we have to come up with a new concept of democracy. It's not so easy that we say this is the end of representative democracy because we have now this wonderful tool [the internet] that enables a central government to be in contact with every individual human being and make decisions by including them in decision making processes. But from my perspective you find in the fields of politics the need for adjustments to make sure that the development we have discussed is a sustainable development. I would love to focus very much on how democracy should look like in a network society. On the new economy I deeply believe that especially the media economy is in a situation that is unique in human history. There is an economy which is largely responsible for creating the wealth of society and at the same time for carving the cultural face of the society. I think managerially thinking people need advice, need strategies how to cope with this task. |
