Dr. Karl Otto Hondrich

Dr. Karl Otto Hondrich has been a Professor of sociology at the University of Frankfurt since 1972, where he founded the Working Group on Social Infrastructure (Arbeitsgruppe Soziale Infrastruktur). Dr. Hondrich studied at the Universities of Frankfurt, Berlin, Paris and Cologne. After a research fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley, he taught for two years at the University of Kabul in Afghanistan. As a sociologist of conflict, he published his observations on the rebellion of the sixties in various cultures in the book Societal Development, Social Conflicts and Political Freedoms. His work includes a sustained look at the consequences of industrialization in international comparison. He is a co-founder of the Club of Quebec, an international group of sociologists concerned with comparative social change.
